Everything College: Prepping For Finals

Everything College: Prepping For Finals

Now you wouldn’t think procrastination exists during finals weeks, but unfortunately for me, it does.

It’s the home stretch only one more week of classes then it’s all on you.

Terrifying.

This semester I want to help myself out more and enjoy the last few weeks of my junior year.

Luckily I already know and have all my prompts for my finals. I know the days and times everything is due.

It can be overwhelming to see that two papers are due on the same day, or even assignments due day after day.

So let’s prep!

I created a separate planner for my finals, this just helps calm my mind because I can organize my thoughts and ideas.

This also helps with deciding what to get done first.

In my case, my major doesn’t require tests but presentations and essays.

Writing out the days assignments need to be done instead of by class helps me visualise what should come first.

With knowing what is expected of me this also helps when deciding if a bigger assignment should be started a week in advance.

Some assignments I only need a day or two this prepping helps me feel less stressed.

This is why it’s easy to fall behind because I never look forward to a week of writing paper after paper.

Obviously, it all gets done, my anxiety would NEVER let a final be turned in late.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a strategy of what you should get done first, but I wouldn’t recommend saving the most difficult or most time-consuming assignments for last.

I’ve done that in the past and it was my first mistake.

I had questions about the assignment and wasn’t able to get all my answers leaving me overwhelmed and feeling like I could have done better.

In a previous post, I talked about finding a good study spot on campus.

For my finals week, I’m challenging myself to go onto campus to get work done.

The nice weather is already distracting enough and once one roommate suggests something fun…it’s game over for me.

Now this isn’t me blaming them, I’m an adult, and it’s my responsibility.

What sounds more appealing? Ice Cream? Or writing a paper?

It’s easy to get distracted but we are fighting the distractions this year.

It’s okay to be stressed, I’m a week and half away from finals and already nervous.

Finals are time consuming and you want to be proud of yourself and the work you submit.
