Winter may be a fun time for some people but dogs really enjoy playing in the snow. There are many types of dogs that enjoy the snow but the dogs that thrive in the winter conditions are Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, and Norwegian Elkhound. When snow is on the ground, dogs enjoy playing with it by putting their faces in it.

When dogs want to play outside in the snow, they should only be outside for thirty minutes but pet owners should look out for discomfort by staying by you. When the dog stays by you, they want to go back inside and get cold even though they have fur that is supposed to keep them warm. The environment is different for them since the temperatures begin to drop below 30 degrees. Even though the temperature begins to drop and there is snow on the ground, dogs still enjoy going on walks so they are able to get their daily exercise in despite the weather condition where you live. Even if it is cold outside, it is still important to take care of your dogs in harsh conditions.

Dogs also should not be left outside when the weather conditions are below freezing for a long period of time. If the pets such as dogs are left outside in cold conditions for too long, they could freeze, become disoriented, injured, or even killed if the owners are not paying attention to them. Even if your dog has a thick heavy coat, they will most likely feel chilly and pets can still get frostbite like humans if they are outside too long. Pet owners should make sure that they are paying attention to the time so they are not outside too long. Weather such as rain and snow can affect the behavior of your dog which is similar to the effect weather can have on humans’ mood and energy. #dogs #winter #snow
